The tribes of Hadhramaut province have agreed upon establishing a joint force to protect the oil companies present in the region, with the support of the Saudi forces.
According to tribal sources in the province, a number of sheikhs of the tribes of Hadhramaut valley and desert held an expanded meeting on Tuesday, during which they agreed to form a joint force of tribesmen to ensure the protection of oil companies and state institutions in the city of Seiyun and the rest of the districts, at the behest of the leadership of the Saudi forces in the city.
This comes within the framework of the call of the head of the “Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance,” Amr bin Habrish al-Ali, loyal to Saudi Arabia, in early January, to recruit 10,000 people from the valley districts, in response to the threats of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia to storm the valley districts and control the camps of the “First Military Region,” loyal to the Islah Party.
Saudi Arabia blocked the way for the STC forces loyal to the UAE, which announced, last August, the “East Arrows” operation to control the districts of Hadhramaut Valley after imposing its control over the Islah camps in Abyan Province.
