Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sana’a government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, mocked on Saturday the low reception of the so-called head of the Saudi-formed “Presidential Council”, Rashad Al-Alimi, in Germany.
Al-Ezzi said on Twitter: “Al-Alimi arrived at Munich Airport, and he was received by the Deputy Director of the Chamber of Commerce.”

“All the world knows that the recognition is a formality, as a compliment to Riyadh and to spite Sanaa only,” commented Al-Ezzi, stressing that this kind of fake recognition comes only in the context of the conflict between the grown-ups, “Sanaa and Riyadh.”
Meanwhile, media sources revealed that Al-Alimi’s participation in the Global Security Conference in Germany was just a cover for another goal, which is to visit his group of companies in Berlin, which is managed by Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, whom Al-Alimi recently appointed as his economic advisor.
The sources stated that the German government completely ignored Al-Alimi’s visit and did not receive him officially, despite the Yemeni embassy notifying the German authorities of the visit and submitting a request to meet Al-Alimi with Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, who has not obtain, until this moment, approval for the meeting.
According to the sources, Al-Alimi does have a group of companies in 4 European countries, including Canada, which has branches in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and others, and his sons Mohammad, Abdul Hafez, Khaled and Ammar Al-Alimi contribute to its management.
In mid-July last year, the US President Joe Biden had refused Al-Alimi’s participation in the summit that brought him together with the leaders of the Gulf states during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
