An activist was killed on Sunday in Shabwah province, during an attack by the so-called “Shabwah Defense” militia affiliated with the son of the governor on protests condemning the deterioration of services.
Medical sources reported that the activist, Nasser Dilham, was killed and several others were injured during a shooting at protesters who gathered in front of Al-Saeed Hospital in the outskirts of Ataq city to demand better services.
Shabwah suffers from a collapse of services, despite looting and sales of oil and gas fields.
The incident would widen the popular tension against the governor loyal to Saudi-led coalition and overthrow him.
