Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, commented on the United Nations’ announcement to collect $1.2 billion for its Yemen aid plan in 2023.
“Yemen needs to benefit from its capabilities, which donors are prevented from benefiting from,” Al-Houthi said on Twitter on Monday.

“What the donors offered in their wars on Yemen, and what they received in terms of the value of their weapons that killed the children and people of Yemen with their aggression, terrorism and siege, does not entitle them to appear as doves of peace in the worst crisis created by the ٍSaudi-led coalition in Yemen,” he added.
On Monday, Global donors pledged about $1.2 billion at a conference aimed at generating funds to help millions of people in Yemen suffering from the fallout of an eight-year war, a UN official said.
The amount is far below the target of $4.3 billion set by the United Nations to stave off one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
