Southern Transitional Council militants abduct activist exposing corruption scandals

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia kidnapped a human rights activist who exposed corruption scandals in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden.

Human rights sources in the city of Aden said that “armed elements of the STC militia kidnapped the human rights activist Moath al-Wardi, and took him to one of its prisons in Al Mansura District.

Sources explained that al-Wardi’s abduction came after he published corruption cases in the Zakat Duties Office, which is under the control of government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Aden.

Al-Wardi revealed a number of extortion and bullying operations practiced by the ” Duties Office”, against merchants in Al-Mansoura, indicating that Al-Wardi is still inside the STC’s militia prison, according to the sources.

The Abduction of the activist Al-Wardi caused wide angry reactions among activists and residents of the Al-Mansoura district, considering his abduction as a terrorism for anyone who criticizes the financial corruption.
