Jordan’s decision to bar Yemeni patients met with outrage

Head of the Supreme Medical Committee in Sana’a, Dr. Mutahar Al-Darwish, called on the Jordanian authorities to reconsider the unfair decision against Yemeni patients, and to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by Saudi-led coalition’s war and blockade on Yemen.

“The Jordanian authorities’ decision to bar Yemeni patients from entering the country unless they have a medical report given by Jordanian hospitals is unjust and unreasonable, and it causes additional financial difficulties,” Dr. Al-Darwish said in a statement to Al-Masirah TV channel.

He went to say that this move will reduce Jordan’s destination for treatment and turn it into a compulsory transit station only.

Dr. Al-Darwish added that putting more complications in front of difficult-to-treat patients in Yemen is inextricably linked to the scenario of disrupted travel to Cairo and India.
