Oman confirms that Israeli civilian aircraft are not allowed to land on its soil

The Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority in Oman, Nayef al-Abri, confirmed on Monday that his country will not allow Israeli aircraft to land on the territory of the Sultanate, but will only allow them to cross its airspace.

The local electronic newspaper “Atheer” quoted Al-Abri as saying that the Civil Aviation Authority is a technical institution and is committed to international conventions, notably the 1944 Chicago Treaty signed by all governments of the world.

The Chicago Convention of 1944 provides for non-discrimination in treatment between civil aircraft used in international air navigation, especially for the 193 contracting states with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), including the Israeli occupation entity.
