Yemeni defences shoot down Saudi drone in Jawf

The Yemeni air defences have on Tuesday shot down a reconnaissance drone aircraft belonging to Saudi-led coalition forces over airspace of Jawf province, northern Yemen.

In a brief statement, Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yehya Sare’e said that the Air Defences managed to down a Chinese-made Wing Loong 2, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, operating by the coalition forces, after it penetrated Yemeni airspace.

The drone was targeted with a locally made Surface-to-air missile today afternoon in Jawf province, according to the statement.

The armed forces affirmed their readiness to confront any attempts to penetrate Yemeni sovereignty or any aggression by the Saudi-led coalition.
