President Mahdi al-Mashat vows crackdown against corruption and abuse of power

President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, met on Tuesday with Governor of Sana’a province, Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, Deputy Minister of Public Works, Eng. Muhammad Al-Dhari, Director of Sanaa Security, Director of Al-Amana Security, Director of the Public Works Office of the Sanhan District, and the father of the child who was assaulted by a municipality soldier.

In the meeting, President Al-Mashat expressed his thanks and admiration for the child who bravely defended his father, extending apology to the child, Ayham, and his father, Saeed Muhammad Salih Al-Zaidi, and affirming that what happened is an individual act that does not reflect the behavior of a statesman.

President Al-Mashat said: “Everyone supports the security man if he has the ethics of the profession, but when he strips himself of morals, values, and laws, he will receive his deterrent punishment.”

President Al-Mashat stressed that such actions would not be allowed, and whoever does them would receive a deterrent punishment.

He urged residents to help the state by documenting any inappropriate action by any employee, stating that any employee who collects money under any name without an official document is just a thief.

For his part, the father of the child, Saeed Muhammad Al-Zaidi, expressed his great satisfaction at the fairness he received from President Al-Mashat, indicating that what his son was subjected to is an individual act that does not express the security establishment and its members who stay up at night to protect the Yemeni people.
