Domestic gas prices through the roof in Socotra due to Emirati occupation monopoly

The price of a gas cylinder in the occupied Socotra archipelago has reached astronomical figures due to the UAE’s monopoly on selling gas to the people of the island.

Media sources on the island reported that the pro-UAE governor, Raafat al-Thaqali, sold Socotra’s share of domestic gas and made the sale of gas cylinders through a station belonging to the UAE’s representative, Khalfan al-Mazrouei.

The price of a domestic gas cylinder amounted to 43,000 riyals, which burdened the people of the island during the month of Ramadan, according to the sources.

The UAE is also monopolizing the sale of foodstuffs and oil derivatives through stores belonging to the UAE occupation authorities.
