President Mahdi al-Mashat receives released Yemeni prisoners of war in Sana’a

President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, received on Friday the liberated war prisoners at Sana’a International Airport, amid official and popular presence.

President Al-Mashat lauded the majestic and honorable reception of the liberated prisoners, in which the official and popular authorities took part as an expression of loyalty and gratitude to them.

He pointed out that this reception is the least that could be offered to the great captives, praising their sacrifices and steadfastness in the Saudi-led coalition prisons, despite the torture they were subjected to.

President Al-Mashat thanked the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs for its tireless efforts, the fruits of which were evident today with the arrival of this batch of liberated captives.

He promised all the detainees currently held in coalition jails, saying “I assure you that we will not rest in peace and will not live comfortably until the final prisoner is liberated, God willing.”

On Thursday, Head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs, Abdul Qader al-Murtadha, had stated that the first batch of liberated prisoners include 250 war prisoners and detainees, who arrived today, Friday, as part of the Ramadan deal.

Al-Murtadha said that the second batch of the liberated prisoners in the prisons of Saudi Arabia and the west coast, would arrive tomorrow, Saturday, and they total 350 prisoners.
