Armed groups set up checkpoints in Lahj province

Traffic stopped on the Lahj-Aden road and hundreds of trucks and vehicles lined up in a long line in Tur Al-Baha district, after armed groups stopped the line.

Local sources said that gunmen cut off the main line linking Taiz and Lahj governorates and stopped traffic, demanding the payment of their salaries.

Citizens and owners of trucks and buses called on the local authority in Lahj province to put a solution to these acts, which have become frequent as a result of the failure of the local authority and the security and military agencies to protect the road, as their role does not exceed imposing taxes and royalties and leaving the gunmen to tamper with it.
