IED blasts hit STC in Abyan province: one dead, three wounded

At least one militia member of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was killed and three others wounded on Friday in an explosion in Abyan province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources said that an improvised explosive device struck an ambulance belonging to the STC in the Mudiya district.

Sources added that the incident resulted in “the death of one recruit and the injury of three others who were on board the vehicle.”

Attacks with explosive devices have occurred against the STC militias since they announced the so-called “East arrows” operation against the Islah Party militants in Abyan in early September, leaving 17 militiamen dead and wounded.
