The UAE brought hundreds of militants through the port of Aden to Mukalla city of Hadhramaut, to reinforce the members of the so-called Hadhrami elite forces.
Local sources said that the move came in coordination with the leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias.
The sources stated that the UAE transferred these forces in great secrecy, after the Saudi support commander, Sultan Al-Baqami, refused to hand over the Al-Wadea border crossing with his country to the Hadhrami elite, and agreed to deploy the Saudi-funded 5th Brigade Dara al-Watan at the crossing.
The sources indicated that the STC found an opportunity to reinforce its forces in Hadhramaut, after the local components there refused to participate in the consultative meeting held last Thursday in Aden.
