The Court of First Instance in Socotra Archipelago Province issued on Monday a ruling against the Emirati electricity company, “Dexim Power”, for not fulfilling its legality in the investment work.
According to local sources in the archipelago, the ruling came after the citizens filed a complaint against the company that monopolized the electricity service in the archipelago months ago.
The sources pointed out that the Qalansiyah district witnessed, last Sunday, popular protests denouncing the deterioration of electricity services as a result of tampering with the service by the fake “Dexim” company, which was established by the UAE to launder money in the archipelago.
A military commander loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council in Qalansiyah, accompanied by armed men, chased and suppressed the people participating in the protests that the district witnessed, the source said.
