At least 10 militants were injured when a booby-trapped motorbike exploded on Tuesday in Bayhan district of Shabwah province.
Local sources confirmed that the blast targeted a military vehicle belonging to the UAE-backed “Sixth Brigade of Shabwah Defense”, while passing through Al-Rawdha Junction.
The sources indicated that the booby-trapped motorcycle was on both sides of the road and was detonated the moment the vehicle passed by.
This came after the popular discontent has been risen in Bayhan area, since the assassination of Abdullah Al-Bani, a preacher and imam of the Eid prayer, by the elements of the “Sixth Brigade of Shabwah Defense,” after he left the Eid prayer in the area.
Last week, Bayhan witnessed civil disobedience in solidarity with the Al-Bani family, amid calls for the trial of those accused of the assassination
