Kuwait will host the next Gulf Cup football tournament, which will take place in December 2024, the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) announced on Wednesday.

The decision to make Kuwait the tournament’s next host came at a meeting of representatives of Gulf Cup participating nations on Sunday.

A month was also given to the Gulf federations to apply to be an alternative to Kuwait in the event that it was not possible to establish the tournament there.

This is the fifth time that Kuwait will host the tournament after hosting it in 1974, 1990, 2003, and 2017.
