Supreme Political Council secretary: Yemen has suprises prepared for Saudis if they delay peace

Secretary of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, Dr. Yasser Al-Houri, said there will be “a surprise” that Yemen is preparing to deter Saudi Arabia and make it regret its actions, if it continues to procrastinate negotiations and fulfilment of peace entitlements.

Dr. Al-Houri stressed that “Yemen is preparing its alternatives and options in the event Saudi Arabia continues to take a one-step forward and two-step back approach to negotiations.”

“If there is no clear and explicit commitment, Saudi Arabia and the region will not enjoy security and stability,” he said, indicating that “the Yemeni options are wide, with the expansion of Yemeni homemade military production and combat readiness at all levels.”

The Political Council’s secretary pointed out that “Saudi Arabia is dodging and trying to gain time in implementing its commitments in the humanitarian file, which includes addressing the effects of the war in all aspects and all commitments to achieve peace in Yemen.

The Yemeni people have still not seen much in the way of positive results from the armistice, except for the release of prisoners and one destination for flights, even as peace negotiations are at a level they have not been at for eight years.
