A local official in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition survived an assassination attempt on Tuesday while he was in a vocational institute in the center of Aden city, southern Yemen.
The Director of Technical Education in Aden Province, Muhammad Salem Al-Shakliya, confirmed in a statement to the media that he had been targeted by an assassination attempt while he was in a vocational institute in the Khor Maksar area by a person who demanded his financial rights.
The statement stated that the attacker broke one of the institute walls, and when al-Shakliyya was about to leave the institute, he hurriedly pointed his weapon at him, but the weapon was taken from him and deposited with the director of legal affairs in the office.
The director of technical education submitted a report to the security authorities loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, but they have not carried out any measures to arrest the accused, according to the statement
