Yemeni man dies of self-immolation in Aden after mercenary gangs drove him to despair

A Yemeni civilian with the name of Wezr Abdou Ahmed Al-Hubaishi, from Taiz province, died on Wednesday from injuries he sustained after setting himself on fire in front of a local authority building in Aden city, southern Yemen.

On Tuesday, Al-Hubaishi had set himself on fire to protest the burning of his livelihood street stall by gangs affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

Sources in the city of Aden said that the Security Directorate of Sheikh Othman refused the entry of an investigation committee formed by the governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, to investigate the matter.

As a result, angry protests broke out in the Sheikh Othman district, demanding justice for Al-Hubaishi and a speedy punishment of the perpetrators.
