The Islah Party-affiliated Ministry of the Interior in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition announced Saturday the opening of recruitment and mobilization in Seiyun city, the center of the oil-rich Hadhramaut province in eastern Yemen.
Last Wednesday, the General Directorate of Security and Police in Hadhramaut Valley received dozens of recruits’ files, following Interior Minister Ibrahim Haidan’s directives, to strengthen the party’s security presence in the districts.
The police department in the districts of Hadhramaut Valley will receive about 2,000 recruits from tribes loyal to Islah in the coming days.
This comes at a time when the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) continues to demand the removal of the “First Military Region” forces from the Valley and Desert districts, contrary to the Saudi approach that seeks to integrate these forces into “Dera Al-Watan” brigades funded by Riyadh.
