Sana'a issues directive to all ports banning entry of Swedish goods

The Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) in Sana’a issued a directive on Saturday, for all ports to ban and prevent the entry of any Swedish products or goods.

The directive included banning any Swedish products, which are imported directly from Sweden or imported through other countries to Yemen, in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Industry to boycott Swedish goods in response to Sweden’s desecration of the Holy Quran and Islamic sanctities.

The Director General of the YSMO, Sam Al-Bashiri, confirmed that the ban on entry of goods and products of Swedish companies officially began at the ports and customs centers, starting on July 8, 2023.

He pointed out that the authority’s branches will work in cooperation with all concerned authorities to tighten procedures to prevent any attempt to introduce any Swedish products.
