The Saudi-led coalition-funded factions have displaced dozens of citizens from their homes in Al-Buraiqa district of Aden province, southern Yemen.
Human rights sources confirmed that the armed groups of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), led by the so-called “Munif Al-Zubaidi”, demolished the homes of citizens in Qurai’i and Bir Ali areas of the Al-Buraiqa district, displacing its residents to the open.
According to the sources, the gunmen, who came on board a number of military vehicles, arrested a number of citizens who refused to leave their homes and took them, along with some women and children, to one of the detention centers in the city.
This comes amid calls for the sheikhs and notables of the area, humanitarian and human rights organizations to adopt the issue of systematic displacement against the people and return them to their villages.
The sources stated that the continuous attacks against the people and expelling them from their homes by force of arms, come under the pretext that the citizens’ villages are located within the scheme of the so-called “Salah al-Din Military Airport,” for which the UAE seeks to establish an air base in the area.
