On Monday, Saudi Arabia deployed new defense systems along the Yemeni border.
Media outlets reported that Saudi forces transferred many air defense systems, including Patriot and Chinese-made defense systems, to the border provinces with Yemen, especially Jizan, Najran and Asir.
This is the first time that Saudi Arabia has deployed defense systems in those provinces since the start of the war on Yemen in March 2015.
It was not immediately clear whether the Saudi move was for defensive posturing or a preparation for a military escalation.
