Five members of the UAE-funded Southern Trasitional Council (STC) militias were killed on Tuesday and five others were wounded in a violent attack in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Local sources said that the al-Qaeda-linked armed group waged the attack on the STC’s sites in Wadi Omran area, east of the Mudiyah district.
The sources affirmed that the so-called commander of Operations Staff of the First Battalion in the Third Brigade, Adnan Abdul Ahmed Al-Waalani, was killed in the attack.
The terrorist elements, backed by gunmen loyal to Islah, attacked gatherings of the STC’s sites with various types of arms, after targeting them with dozens of mortar shells
