A child was killed by a gunman in Yemen’s southwestern province of Taiz, eyewitness told Yemen Press Agency on Sunday.
According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrator, Mohammed Abdul Azim Al-Sharabi, fired a barrage of bullets from his car towards the child, Ghaleb Muhammad Ghaleb Ali Al-Janani, while he was leaving his home near a shopping center in the old airport neighborhood, killing him instantly.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the perpetrator fled in his car immediately after committing the crime.
It’s still unknown why the gunman killed the child.
It is worth noting that the areas, which are under the control of the Saudi-led coalition forces, have been witnessing an escalation in murders and assassinations as a consequence of the lawlessness in those areas. The latest example being the assassination of a UN official, Muayad Hamidi, last month by members of the coalition recruits in the city of Al-Turbah.
