On Tuesday, a woman and her child were killed and their house was burned down on as a result of lightning strikes in Mahweet province, local sources said.
According to the local sources, the victims were identified as Amna Tariq Al-Wali, 5 years old, and her mother Juma’a Yahya Al-Wali, 30 years old.
The sources stated that as a result of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, several villages in Al-Mahweet district were subjected to several lighting strikes, which led to the death of a child and her mother, the injury of 3 others, including a child, the death of a number of livestock, and the burning of a house in a similar incident in the village of Al-Ma’azab.
