The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions assassinated a close associate of the leader in the Security Belt, Abdullatif al-Sayed, in Mudiyah district of Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
This came hours after announcing al-Sayed’s assassination himself on Thursday in a bomb attack in Al-Rafdh valley in Mudiyah.
Informed sources in the district reported that the STC factions opened fire on leader Abboud Muhammad Hussein Qahs Al-Junaidi after he exceeded security points in the Mudiyah area, without mentioning the reason.
The sources see that Al-Junaidi assassination came against of the backdrop of regional motives, possibly linked to Abdullatif Al-Sayed’s killing.
