On Tuesday, human rights activists circulated shocking pictures that showed the wounds from a man, Mohammed Jamal Ahmed Shehab, who was gruesomely tortured to death inside a detention center run by UAE-backed militias in Lahj governorate. The region has been under the control of the Saudi-led coalition factions since mid-2015.
The images, circulated by a number of human rights defenders on the “X” platform, showed scars on the body of the young man, “Shehab,” from the brutal torture inside the detention center two days after his abduction last week. The center is under the control of the “Fifth Brigade” factions funded by the UAE.
Moreover, the images showed signs of torture, beatings with sharp objects and cauterization with fire on different parts of the body of Shehab. He was working as an electrical engineer in the city of Al-Huta.
The UAE-backed militia put the man in the refrigerator of Bin Khaldoun Hospital in the province.
