Hundreds of Wagner soldiers have reportedly arrived in the capital of Niger, as part of a military support unit as requested by the revolutionary government in Niamey.
The Wagner reinforcements are experienced anti-terrorist specialists, many of whom are battle-hardened veterans who fought against Al-Qaeda, Daesh and the FSA in Syria.
The Wagner Group arrival coincides with an announcement by ECOWAS that a “D-Day” for its invasion of Niger has already been decided upon. Aside from Wagner support, Niger can reportedly also count on backing from Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Algeria and even Egypt.
