The number of families affected by the torrents in Saada province during the past days generally reached 525 families in three districts, and about 60 families whose status has not been verified, a local official said on Tuesday.
Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Council branch in the province, Mohammed Hussein Bidhan, indicated in a statement today that an emergency meeting and field visits were carried out to the most affected places, noting that assistance will arrive from Sanaa within two days, including food, mattresses and tents.
He attributed the causes of the damage to the families in the districts of Saada, Sahar and Al-Safra to the Saudi-led coalition’s bombing of the torrent channels, in addition to the displacement of families after the destruction of their homes to unsuitable places.
