Citizens have on Tuesday find the body of a senior militia leader loyal to the UAE, who had been brutally slaughtered in the center of the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwah province, eastern Yemen.
Salem Abdullah Lahul Al-Barasi Al-Awlaki, 38, one of leaders of the UAE-backed Shabwah Defence forces, was found killed in the city, after being kidnapped a year by unknown persons, local sources in the city said.
The sources accused Al-Qaeda, which is allied with Al-Islah, of being behind the murder of Al-Barasi Al-Awlaki.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation among the residents of the city, where the various districts of Shabwah are witnessing an unprecedented state of security chaos in light of the presence of the coalition-funded armed factions.
