The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a, in a statement issued yesterday, Monday, praised the struggles of the Nigerien people for their freedom, independence, and the restoration of all their usurped rights, declaring the solidarity of the Republic of Yemen, people and government, with the people of Niger and their natural and legitimate right to self-determination and to build their independent state.
The Ministry’s statement called on all free governments and peoples to support Niger and its oppressed people in their free tendencies to get rid of the French colonialism that deprived this country of its wealth and left it to poverty, destitution, and deprivation for many decades.
It indicated that France, which has a black colonial history, has not learned from the lessons of history and has not yet understood that the policies of colonialism, trusteeship, and domination over peoples have passed forever.
The Foreign Ministry also called on the international community to respect the right of peoples to self-determination, respect the sovereignty of states, and not interfere in their internal affairs.
