Al-Houthi questions WFP representative about reduction in aid to Yemen

On Monday, a member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, discussed with the Regional Director of the World Food Program (WFP)  for the Middle East and North Africa, Corinne Fleischer, the repercussions of the decision to reduce humanitarian aid to Yemen.

Al-Houthi considered that such a decision was political and at the behest of the American administration, at a time when Yemen continues to suffer as a result of the US-Saudi aggression and siege.

He pointed out that the United Nations’ working mechanism has proven ineffective in dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, which is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

Al-Houthi held the countries of the US-Saudi aggression coalition responsible for all the humanitarian and living crises facing Yemen.

Sources revealed to Al Masirah, Sunday, that the World Food Program had requested a few days ago that the official authorities in Sana’a approve its recent decision to reduce its aid in Yemen.

The sources explained that the program’s insistence on the signature of official authorities was rejected because it involved suspicious agendas, including misleading statements about who was behind the reduction in aid.
