Omani traveller abducted by Islah forces in Ma’rib

Islah forces in the city of Ma’rib kidnapped the Omani traveler Harith Al-Shereiqi and transferred him to an unknown location five days ago, local sources revealed on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the Omani traveler Harith Al-Shereiqi was stopped at one of the security checkpoints of the Islah in the vicinity of the city of Ma’rib and took him to an unknown location.

Southern activist Ali al-Nassi said in a post on his Facebook that “the security forces arrested YouTuber and Omani traveler Harith Al-Shereiqi five days ago at one of Marib security checkpoints because of his desire to visit Sana’a.”

He added: “We appeal to Governor Sultan Al-Arada to immediately release the Omani traveler as he is a visiting guest to Yemen and has nothing to do with any political dispute in the country.”

“If his visit to Sana’a is considered a crime, you should arrest the UN envoy and the Saudi ambassador Al Jaber for visiting Sana’a more than once,” he said.

The activist Nawaf Hamad Nasser said: “We condemn the arrest of Omani traveler Harith al-Shereiqi at one of the security checkpoints in Ma’rib province.”

He added: “Shame on you, even the guests are not safe from you. You have humiliated us among the Arabs and the tribes.”
