The Medical and Health Professions Syndicate in Aden province, southern Yemen, on Sunday announced the gradual strike and raised the red badges, starting tomorrow, Monday, September 11.
The syndicate loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) confirmed in a statement that the strike is in protest against the decision of the Ministry of Finance in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to transfer salaries to banking institutions.
The statement said that on September 17, sit-ins will be launched in health facilities from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for a period of three days.
The syndicate threatened to go on a general strike afterwards if the pro-coalition government did not reverse the decision.
