Yemen Press Agency online presence shut down under Zionist pressure

On Sunday, the Yemeni Press Agency was shut down and blocked by the online hosting company, following a complaint submitted by a Zionist officer to the company in a protest against the agency’s so-called violation of intellectual property rights and publishing of his photos while roaming with a firearm and near unknown military vehicle on the Yemeni island of Socotra, which is occupied by the UAE forces.

The official claimed that these images were published exclusively on his page on “Instagram”, considering the agency’s publication of these images a violation of intellectual property rights.

In his complaint submitted to the company, the Zionist officer denied his affiliation with the Israeli espionage agency Mossad, ignoring his appearance carrying a Kalashnikov while roaming the island and moving around in a foreign military vechile, claiming that he was just a tourist and came to the island for the purpose of tourism.

The “Yemeni Press Agency” had published a news article on August 27, documented by photographs posted by Yemeni activists and media on their X social media accounts, revealing the presence of an officer belonging to the Mossad roaming the occupied Yemeni island of Socotra. He appeared in those photos with a Kalashnikov rifle next to a military vechile in several areas of the island on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

The head of the Hona Aden Center, Anis Mansour, had previously published these images on his verified X account.

The visit of the Zionist officer coincided with nee secret meetings by leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) with Zionist diplomats and military officers in the UAE. At the head of these meetings was the pro-UAE Governor of Socotra Raafat Al-Thaqali in Abu Dhabi, and it was done in the presence of the Israeli ambassador to the UAE.

It is worth noting that many Zionist troupes have frequently visited the occupied island of Socotra during the past four years, under the pretext of tourism, and displayed their presence in front of the most prominent views of the island, in addition to filming immoral clips in a violation of the traditions and customs of the Yemeni island.

On July 4, 2022, Yemeni media loyal to the UAE in southern Yemen published news about the arrival of a UAE Air Force plane that landed at Hadibo Airport with Emirati officers aboard, accompanied by Israeli military personnel. The media sources indicated that most of the Israeli officers arriving on the island were military construction engineers and said that their visit came within the arrangements for the establishment of a joint Emirati-Israeli air base in the city of Hadibo.

The Eekad platform had published a report reinforced by satellite images on the UAE’s construction of an Israeli air base on Abd al Kuri Island, located within the Socotra archipelago.

During the past year 2021, the CIA had moved to target the English website of the Yemeni Press Agency, and classified it as “one of the most dangerous media sites in the Middle East that must be shut down.”

The US intelligence’s acts were revealed in a study published by Reuters in English during the year 2021 prepared for the CIA, on “the most dangerous English-language news sites in the Arab region,” including the English website of the Yemeni Press Agency.

The study recommended that the CIA pressure the international company hosting the agency’s server to shut it down permanently.

The study, which was prepared and published by Reuters in 2021 indicated that the English-language website of the Yemeni Press Agency is an anonymous website.

Reuters added: “Some sites are hasty to publish. A website named Yemen Press Agency misspells the name in English and publishes a continuous update under the title “Saudi crimes against Yemenis in the last twenty-four hours.”
