The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s (STC) desire to negotiate with Sana’a following the recent display of its military arsenal, Southern media reported on Saturday
Media outlets quoted Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, as saying that his council wanted to negotiate with what he described as the “Houthis” regarding the south.
Al-Zubaidi sharply criticized Saudi Arabia in a previous statement, accusing it of marginalizing all Yemeni forces loyal to it and holding negotiations with Sanaa.
This statement is the first by an official of a faction that is considered a de facto authority in southern Yemen and has great influence since the start of the Saudi-led war on Yemen in March of 2015.
