Military confrontations between UAE-backed “Shabwah Defense” forces and Al-Qaeda-linked elements in Shabwah province, eastern Yemen, have halted the educational process in several schools.
Local sources reported the confrontations began on Monday morning with a military operation against Al-Qaeda members in Al-Musaina’h area, following a bombing that killed four soldiers.
The suspension of classes in several schools was announced until further notice.
On September 13, an educational official in Shabwah was assassinated by gunmen near a military point of the “Shabwah Defense” factions in the city of Ataq.
