Dozens of people from Shabwah province, eastern Yemen, protested on Thursday against the assassination of Ahmed Tarish, the head of the Curriculum Division in the Education Office, in mid-September, demanding that the authorities loyal to Saudi-led coalition hand over the perpetrators.
The protesters criticized local and security authorities in Shabwah for not arresting perpetrators for nearly 10 days following the assassination incident near a military point belonging to the “Shabwah Defense” factions in Ataq city, the province center.
The educational sector’s protest, organized in Khoura area, demanded the arrest of perpetrators and their supporters, threatening escalation and a general strike in all Shabwah schools until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
