The Southern Revolutionary Movement in Yemen has on Wednesday announced that it would abandon the peaceful option in confronting the Saudi-led coalition and move towards open confrontation against the occupation in the coming days, in response to continued violations against citizens in southern and eastern Yemen.
The official spokesman for the Southern Revolutionary Movement, Dr. Muhammad al-Numani, said in a post on the “X” platform: “We are forced to resort to other options and to strike with an iron fist in order to silence the voices violating the honour of citizens and to defend our members and supporters and the people of the southern governorates.”
Al-Numani added, “We are capable of anything, and a harsh response will come to everyone who violates and oppresses the people of the southern governorates, and to everyone who practices abuse against them in the coming days.”
He confirmed that “the Southern Revolutionary Movement will not remain silent in the face of injustice and violations, and the response will come at an appropriate time and place.”
A video circulated by activists on social media on Tuesday showed recruits affiliated with the UAE storming the homes of civilians in Al-Badu neighbourhood of Al-Dis area in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadhramaut Governorate.
