The US Department of Defense announced on Wednesday that 24 US soldiers were wounded in drone attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria.

The Pentagon said that 20 US soldiers were lightly wounded on October 18th, when a drone strike targeted the al-Tanf military base in southeastern Syria.

The Pentagon noted that one of the drones was shot down. They affirmed that all injured personnel returned to service and that no damage was done to any military installations.

On the same day, four other US soldiers were lightly wounded during two drone attacks against the US and coalition forces stationed at Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq.

Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon’s press secretary, said on Tuesday that over the past week, US and coalition forces had been attacked at least 10 times in Iraq and three times in Syria
