Aden puppet government sells petroleum to Emirati company at 35% discount

The Aden puppet government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has sold about 18 million barrels of crude oil to the UAE company “EMO” for 35% less than the global Brent price, according to an official document.

The document, in which pro-coalition Prime Minister Maeen Abdul-Malik Saeed addressed Rashad al-Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, confirmed that the Emirati company has made a commitment to buy the currently available quantity of 3.5 barrels in the oil tanks of Hadramout and Shabwah provinces in exchange for a 35% discount from the Brent price.

The document showed the government selling 14.5 million barrels of future production imported by the company, and committed to providing security protection, risks, and consequences for the export process in exchange for the discount, according to the pro-coalition oil ministry, which has a close relationship with the UAE.

It also explained that the company “EMO” has committed to providing oil derivatives needed to operate the electricity sector, noting that the pro-coalition government is going through a critical economic situation and can not carry out its basic obligations to provide the minimum services, and risks being wholly unable to secure salaries on a regular basis
