Protest note by INSAN e. V. – Für Menschenrechte und Frieden e.V., Yemenitische Gesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein and Stop te WAR in Yemen – GERMANY
INSAN for Human Rights and Peace condemns all kinds of crimes against civilians, regardless of their ethnicity or religion. The crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip have been going on for a month.
So far, more than 9,500 civilians have become victims, most of them women and children. The ongoing Israeli crimes against civilians in Gaza are committed in full public view and receive political, financial and military support from several countries under the pretext of supporting Israel in its self-defence.
The massive military support and the political and even media coverage of these countries of the Israeli crimes against civilians in Gaza reveal the extent of the international political hypocrisy of these countries, exposing their double standards and the falsity of their humanitarian feelings and making them an actual partner in Israel’s war crimes against civilians in Gaza.
Arbitrary bombing of residential neighbourhoods, forced displacement, destruction of civilian infrastructure, bombing of health and educational facilities, disruption of communications, disruption of electricity supply, disruption of drinking water supply and the imposition of a comprehensive blockade that prevents food and health care from reaching the civilian population are all crimes against humanity that Israel is openly committing in the form of collective punishment of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
We, in the Stop the War in Yemen initiative, the organisation INSAN for Human Rights and Peace, as well as the Yemeni community in Germany, demand an end to the Israeli aggression against civilians in the Gaza Strip and the lifting of the blockade to allow the import of food and medical supplies.
We call on the European Union and the USA to immediately initiate a radical solution to the Palestinian question by returning the occupied Palestinian territories, enforcing the establishment of a Palestinian state on its land with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of Palestinian refugees.
