Chief of Staff of Aden puppet government survives assassination attempt

Saghir bin Aziz, the Chief of Staff in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, has on Wednesday survived an assassination attempt in the city of Ma’rib, which is under the control of the Islah Party.

According to informed local sources, a car bomb attack targeted the convoy of the Chief of General Staff while he was on his way from the Al-Abr area to the city of Ma’rib.”

The sources confirmed that three of Bin Aziz’s escorts were seriously injured, amid accusations of Islah elements of being behind the assassination attempt.

Meanwhile, Islah activists described the assassination attempt on Ben Aziz as a “blatant play carried out by Ammar Saleh’s cells to achieve military and political gains in Ma’rib at the expense of the party.”

This comes after bin Aziz was accused of being associated with military leaders in the Zionist entity and after he had held a series of meetings with a number of US military commanders in conjunction with the war on Gaza in early October.
