Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who was re-elected last week, will inform “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his country will soon be ready to recognize the State of Palestine, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.
Sanchez is due to travel to Israel on Thursday, along with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo.
Both intend to meet with Netanyahu, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, as well as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The trip will include a visit to a nearby kibbutz that was attacked by Hamas on October 7. They will continue to the Rafah crossing, the border between Egypt and Gaza, where humanitarian aid will enter when Israel allows it. Cairo will be the final stage, where they will both meet President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
