Only 2% reduction in Red Sea shipping as Yemen allows non-Zionist related ships to pass unhindered

The Yemeni Minister of Transport, Brigadier General Abdulwahab Al-Durrah, has assured that maritime navigation in the Red Sea is proceeding normally.

Al-Durrah stated to Al-Masirah on Wednesday that there has been only a marginal decrease of 1 or 2% in usual maritime traffic due to increased militarisation by the United States in the Red Sea.

He emphasised, “Despite this slight reduction, the flow of ships passing through the Bab el-Mandeb en route to the Suez Canal remains consistent on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.”

Al-Durrah reiterated that Yemen’s ports and the coastal regions in the Red Sea continue to operate regularly without any disruption, as monitored by relevant authorities within the Ministry of Transport.

On his part, the Director of Environment and Maritime Navigation Safety at the Ministry of Transport, Arafat Al-Nashi, stated that “the relevant authorities in the ministry have sent reassuring messages confirming the safety of Yemeni ports.”

Al-Nashi added that “all ships heading to various countries and non-occupied territories are sailing safely, and there is no danger to them.”

He further reassured that shipping companies have responded positively, ensuring the safety of goods in transshipment, waiting zones, and port berths.
