The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) launched on Wednesday a sharp attack on Saudi Arabia after announcing its establishment of the “Shabwah National Council” on Tuesday, similar to the “Hadhramout Council” in eastern Yemen.
The STC member Rajeh Bakrit called on the STC factions “to direct the compass” towards Mahrah and Seiyoun to impose a fait accompli and deny the opportunity to those he called “lurkers,” in reference to the Islah Party.
Bakrit explained in a post on the “X” platform that the so-called “Shabwah Council” is similar to the eastern provinces council affiliated with Islah.
