Haniyeh: Any agreement must guarantee ceasefire and withdrawal of occupation army

The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, stressed on Tuesday that any agreement must guarantee a ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from the Gaza Strip and complete a serious prisoner exchange deal.

This came during his meeting today in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, at the head of a high-level delegation from the Republic of Iran.

Haniyeh considered that the basis for the stability of the region is ending the occupation and granting Palestinian people rights to their land and sanctities.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the war on Gaza at the political and field levels and the diplomatic efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and support Palestinian rights.

The meeting stressed the necessity of stopping the Zionist aggression and its crimes against the people of Gaza and the West Bank and sending humanitarian aid immediately to the people of Gaza.
