The Federation of Trade Unions in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, called on Saturday for a comprehensive strike in all schools and service institutions, starting Sunday, March 3, until further notice.
In a statement today, Saturday, the federation affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) called on the workers and employees to stop all work from the beginning of the day after signing the attendance sheet.
The federation noted the strike as one of the outcomes of the major workers’ vigil that was held in front of the gate of Ma’ashiq Palace, which the pro-coalition government took as its headquarters last week.
The Federation of Trade Unions calls on the pro-coalition government to develop serious solutions to the deteriorating living and economic conditions as a result of the continued collapse of the local currency there.
